The Bishop of Beverley joins the National Pilgrimage to Walsingham

Posted on the 5th June 2013 in the Category - News

On Monday 27 May, Bishop Glyn together with clergy and laypeople from all over the See of Beverley, and many others, took part in the National Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham.  Together they shared lively worship and joyful fellowship.  Bishop Glyn was encouraged by the age profile of the pilgrims (both clergy and laypeople) and was inspired by the sermon given by Archbishop John Sentamu, the Archbishop of York.

Since then we have learned that the Archbishop has undergone surgery for prostate cancer.  We assure him and his family of our prayers.

Photos of the Pilgrimage can be seen here and here.

We thank Graham Howard, the Honorary Shrine Photographer for use of the image above.

Although Bishop Glyn Webster has moved to Holy Trinity Rectory in York, we are still having problems getting the Bishop of Beverley's office moved over to join up with him. There is still no landline or internet; as soon as these are established in the Rectory, the office will move and I will let everyone know the full new contact details.

At present, the office continues to be at 3 North Lane, Roundhay, Leeds, LS 8 2QJ, with the telephone number is 0113 265 4280.

Due to holiday leave, the Bishop of Beverley’s Office will be unattended until 4 June 2013.  If you need to contact Bishop Glyn urgently please phone Fr John Livesley on 01388 814817.

Shortly, we hope to announce the new contact details following the relocation of the Bishop of Beverley’s Office.  However, Bishop Glyn apologies that he still has not got a landline or internet access at home.  He is as frustrated as everyone else!!!
