The Diocese of Leeds is looking for a priest who is happy to respect and work across traditions regarding the ministry of women bishops and priests, and is committed to helping us to grow in numbers, in spiritual commitment to God and in service to the local community. We will offer you our support, prayers and practical help as you lead us in the next stage of our journey. In true Yorkshire style, welcoming and friendly, we will work with you to further God’s mission to Elland.

Elland is a delightful town with a great community feel, and sits between Halifax and Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, in the midst of beautiful landscapes, and within easy reach of excellent facilities and cultural richness. Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Halifax and Manchester are all within easy reach via the motorway and the rail networks. We have good train services locally, connecting to Leeds, Manchester and London. A new Elland Rail Station is planned to open in the coming years.

Please see the Person Specification, Role Description, Brochure and Parish Profile attached for further details of the role and the essential and desirable qualities we are seeking in relation to this post.

The Diocese of Leeds is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All post holders are expected to share this commitment. All appointments to roles undertaking regulated activity are subject to pre-appointment checks, including references and a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check.
