The Parish of St Peter’s Hoyland is in a prominent location in the community, we are known as the Church on The Hill. We are near to historic heritage sites and only 15 mins away from the Peak District with excellent transport links.
We are in the Anglo-Catholic tradition, a Forward in Faith parish with a well-established pattern of catholic worship, under the episcopal oversight of the Bishop of Beverley.
We are looking to welcome a priest:
- Who is a priest of The Society.
- Who will confidently and joyfully celebrate the sacraments of the Church and be a teacher of the faith.
- To continue our mission in the parish with regard to our local schools which is particularly important.
- Who is an excellent listener and communicator.
- Who will have a strong community presence to develop our community engagement further.
- Who will strengthen our relationship with local community groups.
We offer in return:
- A beautiful and well-maintained church.
- A single church Benefice.
- A vicarage adjacent to the church. It is a recently modernised 4 bedroomed, comfortable family home, plus a study and garage. With well-maintained gardens.
- A supportive, hardworking PCC who have ensured that the sacraments have been received and the mission work continued during vacancy.
- A modest but constant congregation with a faithful core of parishioners and a small enthusiastic group of lay volunteers.
For an informal chat, contact:
- Bishop Stephen Race, Bishop of Beverley, via his PA Yaneth Infante-Blanco at office@seeofbeverley.org.uk;
