Christ our King – A Vision Glorious

On Saturday, Bishop Glyn was Principal Celebrant at The Vision Glorious Mass in Wakefield Cathedral.   He concelebrated with three brother bishops, about 70 priests and a congregation which was standing room only.  Later he reflected,

“It was wonderful to worship together in Wakefield in the newly restored Cathedral and I am thankful for the warmth of welcome received from all at the Cathedral.

Vision Glorious was first and foremost a glorious act of worship, with rousing singing and excellent liturgy.  Secondly, it was exhilarating to see not only the number of people taking part but also the makeup of the congregation.  It revealed the vitality and robustness of the Catholic movement in our province.

We are certainly living in uncertain times.  The legislative package currently working its way through the processes of the General Synod of the Church of England is not ideal, but it does offer a basis for our future within the Church of England. We must therefore respond to what Bishop Tony said in his sermon: we must give it a go.”

On a personal note Bishop Glyn said, “As Bishop of Beverley, I’m so proud of the clergy and the people of the parishes I’m privileged to serve.”
