Following today’s announcement of the Venerable Paul John Ferguson, Archdeacon of Cleveland, as the next Bishop of Whitby, and the Reverend Canon Dr John Thomson, Director of Ministry in the Diocese of Sheffield, as the next Bishop of Selby, Bishop Glyn assures them of his prayers for their future ministries.  He also assures the people of the Archdeaconaries of Cleveland and York of his continuing prayers and support for the life of the church with which he has been associated for the past 37 years.

One practical implication of these appointments is that Bishop Glyn will now provide episcopal care for petitioning parishes throughout the diocese of York on a permanent basis.
